Some of our family activities

One thing we did more than anything else, is camping and later going to the cabin. We had some wonderful times. Because Arlo loved fishing and hunting so much, those are some of the things that we did. One year, LaRue and Harold had gone to the temple and on their way back, Harold's mom came with them. We went to the mountains and camped for several days. We picked raspberries and built teepees. Those were fun times

I remember Mrs. Lawson. She was a sweet little lady.

I still love raspberries, but none are as good as the ones that are picked in the mountains with family.

I vaguely remember sleeping in a teepee that was crafted of branches and being dragged out by the feet when it started to rain. I also remember watching an event across a meadow that was amusing. A bull and a bear were in a struggle. The bear won.

We drove into the campsite with the Model-A that was modified with a jeep engine and two transmissions, one behind the other. I also remember thunder coming along.

I remember going to the campground at the fork in the road where you either went to Chama or Platoro. We would go there and camp while dad would go up Hansen Creek to fish. LaManga campground was new about that same time.

That was about the same time that Brother Coleman came down with a grizzly bear that he had killed in his field toward Antonito.
